Impact of moving server from one group to other

Initially I had deployed a few servers, which included Windows and  Linux servers in the same server group. Recently, our organization has decided to segregate servers based on their platforms. I therefore have to create platform-specific server groups and move the servers into those groups. I am interested to know if there is a checklist to follow while moving a server from one server group to another. I also want to know the impact of moving a server.

A server can be moved from one server group to another. Here are a few key points to note:

1. After a server a moved to another server group, going forward the new retention policy will apply
2. Servers can be moved to another server group within a site itself
3. Storage will not and cannot be changed for any server
